The timing chain kit is a critical assembly in internal combustion engines, responsible for synchronizing the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft(s). This precise synchronization ensures that the engine's valves open and close at the correct times relative to the piston's position, enabling the intake, compression, power, and exhaust strokes to occur efficiently. The tensioner maintains the correct chain tension to prevent slack, which can cause noise or, in severe cases, timing misalignment.
